Looking For Lusk
I have been searching for Josiah Lusk b. abt. 1778 for several years now. Part of the problem is that Joseph/Josiah are often used interchangeably. I will present what I do know (plus a few speculations) in the hopes that someone will have information on this line. I appreciate any help.

James and Lucy had the following children:

Wade Hampton Lusk b. 1864 at Louisville, KY
died Oct. 1921.
Sabra Lusk b. 1867 in LeSeur, Minn. died unknown.
James Anthony Lusk served in Col. Malone's Alabama
Cavalry, Confederate in the Civil War, but deserted
with his brother Joe to the Union side, across the Tenn.
River on a R.R. tie. He lost his little finger to the
Confederate Sentry. Although he is listed in War Dept. as a deserter (Union)
and horse thief, he was actually carried
to the Mississippi River steamboat on a stretcher, months
later, the result of a bullet wound in his lung, from
which he never recovered. He and his cousin, Allen Lea
organized a company of men to fight under the Confederacy until they could
desert over. In 1863, 3 yrs.
later he and his brother Joe, were about all left of the
original company. Allen Lea was the Capt. These Lusk's are alleged to be 1st cousins of Allen Lea-haven't found a connection.
